  2. Clear the Clutter: A neat and tidy living space appeals to the greatest number of people. While organizing your belongings can take time and patience, it’s well worth the effort to clear the clutter and open up your space.
  3. Stage Your Furniture: Although there is a common belief that pushing furniture against the wall makes rooms appear larger, this isn’t the case. Instead, position furniture so that it is floating away from the walls and in places where the traffic flow in a room is obvious. Effective staging can sometimes call for the purchase of new decorations or pieces of furniture, so limit your money spent by focusing on the rooms that will be most important to viewers. Generally speaking, the kitchen, living room and master bedroom are the top priorities for potential buyers.
  4. Depersonalize: When touring a potential home, buyers want to be able to imagine living there. By temporarily removing pictures of family members or plaques highlighting your achievements, it will be easier for others to get a feel of what their new home would look like.
  5. Make Minor Repairs: That scratch on the wall or wobbly doorknob could be easy to ignore for you –but making those minor repairs removes the possibility of a potential buyer questioning their decision based on something insignificant that can be easily fixed. Finishing even the smallest projects can improve the selling potential of your house.
  6. Add Fresh Flowers: Fresh flowers not only smell nice, but they give a house that homey and welcoming feeling. This is a small touch that can go a long way for potential buyers viewing your home.
